The Rock-n-Roll Farmers: Donnie and Joe Emerson.

The fine folks at Light in The Attic records just reissued the album Dreamin' Wild by Donnie and Joe Emerson. These guys were farmer kids from Eastern Washington. Their dad was obviously the coolest dude ever, because he built them a 100k recording studio on their property. The expenses incurred in the making of the album cost the Emerson's 1500 acres of land. No regrets.

This story reminds me a lot of my pal Sweet River's family farm in Marine, Minnesota (home of the Square Lake Film & Music Festival). His dad built us a huge rock star stage made of repurposed lumber with all the accouterments. We're talking couches, beaded curtains, christmas lights, mirror balls, shag carpet, you name it we had it. The whole enchilada.

Give it a listen. Another masterstroke from the wizards at Light in The Attic.
