The Truth

For all of the flack the advertising industry receives from outsiders regarding the dubious ethics of what we do, it's somewhat ironic that the best ads are those that ring true. Most, if not all, of advertising's most celebrated campaigns have had this one thing in common. Whether it's magazines (the Economist) or cars (Mini) or condoms (Durex) the best ads are—and will always be—those that communicate a simple, unassailable truth. So while you may find an ad like this bold and brilliant piece for Bentley patently offensive, it's not because it isn't true, it's because you're a humorless sad sack.
