One of the reasons that I respect my father so much, is that he has the uncanny ability to look and/or experience something and have the exact opposite reaction that I do—I believe nerds would call it the Rashomon Effect.
My father is a very calm man, but I can just see him get visibly frustrated at someone calling Jackson Pollock a genius. Or even a good painter.
I think Jackson Pollock is great, but mostly because his work is so polarizing.
Jackson Pollock is one of the most influential American painters and a major force in the abstract expressionist movement. His most recognized work comes from his "drip period" between 1947 and 1950. London-based artist, Miltos Manetas has created the awesome JacksonPollock.org which allows the user to make their very own Pollock with his flash interface.
So, go to the site and make your own.
