Without wanting to incite riotous debate over the dearth of wordless ads out there in ad land, here is a little headline campaign I picked up from ol' Ads of the World. Honestly, I've pretty much given up even looking at ad blogs anymore because all I see are visual ads that elicit the same response: meh, whatever. Here are some words, goddamnit, and some funny ones at that, arranged in an intelligent manner and layed out beautifully. I love this type of shit. Maybe we should have "Word Week" on Superbeast, to give headline campaigns their moment in the sun. Eh, eh? Start talking busters.

Great idea Burk. We should have a Word Week.
These ads look strikingly similar to a real solid Como Zoo campaign I've seen somewhere...
Yeah, I think that's a great idea.
Just last week, I had a project that I was told ahead of time, that I wasn't allowed to write headlines for; as an exercise to make me feel uncomfortable, I can only assume.
I secretly wrote some headlines.
Here is a great article from I Have An Idea about writers will become extinct if they don't start writing.

Nice article. It's probably in our best interest as earnest ad writers that writing does become extinct. It'd help us pull in bigger paychecks.
Word Week? I'm still waiting for the first ICA - International Copywriter's Annual. What's up with the AD's getting all the juice? Ah, but you have to start somewhere my friends. Word Week.
C'mon Lee, you know how much work it'd be to judge all that copy?!
And then put it in a book?!
I don't mean to be alll prickly but I'm not getting these. I just don't think they're funny. I have personally attempted, a number of times, to end a line with "...but not really." Lame.
