EMAIL FROM: MIKE CAGUIN, CREATIVE DIRECTOR:
Great ideas yield great ideas. Here is a story about just that.
Three months ago Erbert & Gerbert's asked us to create a radio spot. After looking into it, contact planning thought that their dollars would be better used in a TV cable buy. A great idea.
So the question was posed to Dustin Black and John Neerland: Can we create a TV spot that would be cool in the eyes of a younger, rabid-for-cool-content audience?
D-Black's response: "Hell's yeah."
Dozens of concepts, a few presentations and two acute cases of ironing-elbow later, Human Flipbook was born.
We believe, never before has a stop motion animation been created using scores of t-shirts (and one human) to deliver the action. It's totally fresh. And like all great TV you catch new things the second and third time you view it.
Just google with quotes: "human flipbook" and virtually nothing comes up. In fact, the only relevant thing that pops up is our very own TV spot that a blogger has somehow already found on YouTube, even though we haven't even seeded the work yet. This made my week.
The best part is we've made this idea bigger than just a TV spot appearing on cable. Human Flipbook can also be enjoyed online where you can view the spot and the making of the TV spot.
What's more is that C+M can claim nearly 100% of the production credit using the expertise of Cold Cuts Editorial, C+M Digital and a few employees with talents reaching beyond their day job. Amazing.

That's fucking awesome.
Goddamn. I really like this.
Russell Herder was in the final 2 or 3 agencies for this client. C+M has done a marvelous job thus far.
