Heavy Metal Parking Lot

I've been hearing about this short documentary for years now and I finally watched it last week. Created by filmakers Jeff Krulik and John Heyn in 1986, the film documents Judas Priest fans tailgating in the parking lot of the Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland. It's only 16 minutes long, but the new DVD release features a ton of extras and outtakes. The content of this film must be witnessed by all aspiring Superbeasts. I recall hanging out at the BMX track in my neighborhood as a kid with bizarro versions of every character in this film. It's on Netflix now, and I'm sure there are links to download the whole thing for free, but only Falch knows how to find that stuff. Enjoy these clips in the interim.

There is a great "extra" in this film where the director interviews the biggest Judas Priest geek in the world. All from his basement/lounge that houses a vast and expensive collection of heavy metal memorabilia. He talks through every single Judas Priest album, from its strengths and weaknesses, to its importance in the Judas Priest canon. That segment alone is beer-through-nose funny.
