Brit plop.

So I saw the latest installment of the British Ad Awards at the Walker on Friday. Total snooze fest. As expected, there were a few nice spots, like the three I've posted here, but most were maudlin PSA's and big budget rip-offs of other ads. For example, the first ad on the reel was for a fruit juice company that faithfully redid the Bravia Rubber Ball spot using fruit instead of bouncy balls. They even used the same goddamn song. Sheesh. Those in attendance seemed genuinely pleased, though, cooing at the right places during the cute spots and acting surprised at the reveal of others, proving to this ad snob that this event is for novice eyes only. Professionals, keep your distance.

Awesome!

Well, if you're lucky you had a few overpriced imports.

The only imports were the ads. We beat feet as soon as we could.

Did anyone call the theater "a space"?

Ha. Yeah, I'm sure. I saw mayor Rybak there, too. I waved but he didn't return the gesture.
