I went to a TM conference in Fairfield, Iowa not long after the Virginia Tech shootings. David Lynch and his Foundation proposed integrating (and funding) meditation in public school classrooms to ease tension. Sounds like a good idea, but this dude is an articulate crack pot. I had my eyes on the exits the whole time in case they brought out the kool aid. At one point he said, "This is not a religion." That's like "This is not a pyramid scheme."
Hey, Lynch's films are one thing, but it's pathetic when filmmakers/actors try to project their rise to fame as having been some transformative experience that allows them to now start a religion. That being said, I support his vilification of the cinematic experience available via iPhone.
William Burroughs did a lot of writing in small apartment in Missoula, MT and when David Lynch was writing Twin Peaks, he moved into that same room to write.

I was kidding. I could really care less either way.
I wish everything was like Blue Velvet.
EVERYTHING.
Wonderful.
Could Daniel Day-Lewis play David Lynch in a film about the filming of Blue Velvet?
Fuck yes, he could.
That's a great idea.
Today's Fact That No One Will Read:
