A conversation invitation.

I was in New York in October and saw these ads for Dentyne plastered all over town - in trains, on taxis, in magazines, at the airport - everywhere. And I liked them. And then today I discovered that their website only allows you to stay on it for three minutes, further underscoring the intent of the print campaign. That is, to take a break from your computer, your iPhone, your fucking retarded ear piece thingy, or whatever, and spend a little good old fashioned face time with a real live human being, the kind you can talk to without having to hit "post" or "send". In times like these, with technology rapidly changing the way we relate to one another, a campaign that encourages us to discover new things about the people we care about by reminding us of the simple pleasures of human interaction is smart. So, who wants to get some drinks tomorrow (Thursday) and practice talking to people?

I would if I were there. C'mon down to Richmond!

On a pissy note...
At first I thought that Dentyne site was brilliant. Until you start actually navigating to ad and product pages, when the countdown stops. If you're gonna commit, commit dammit. You know what that is? That's the MBA product manager douchebag coming in and ruining an otherwise great idea.

I can get drinks Thursday, January 29th when I come back to MPLS. Or that Friday.

Burk you must be there.

I'll be there Falch, just as long as you don't leave at 815 to go sleep in St. Paul.

Burk, great post, and I agree. You realize this message is in the same spirit as the dicehouses right? Come out on saturday, bring the gal. We'll drink beer on Medicine Lake.

Hi Folks.

Great idea....For a print campaign. Assuming someone will spend 3 minutes on a website is a big fat assssssumtion dont ya think? I spent 10 seconds on the site and got bored.

I love dIcehouses - well, I love the Art Shanty project, so I'm sure I'll dIcehouses, too. I've been out there a couple of times and, as far as art shows goes, it's pretty damn close to being the one thing I will not miss every year.

See you on the lake.

Yes, Beth. I completely agree.

It's a nice concept though.

As of now, I think I can only be in Mpls for the 29th and 30th.

And I don't sleep anymore. Especially in St. Paul. Unless someone drugs me. Anyone?
