The Yardbirds. I'm a Man. 1967.

At about the 2:40 mark, the Dark Prince manifests an unholy shred spell that defines the blueprint for future Zep wizardry. Unfettered by the constrictive Yardbirds plodding, the young maestro makes the standard stop-time slow blues his own.

Diabolical shit, dudes.

Page discharging mystic-electromagnetic pulses temporarily stunning Relf's microphone.

Another seminal moment for Page and the Yardbirds laying the groundwork for the iconic Zeppelin sound. I think this was about the time Page took a tip from Robert Johnson and found the "crossroads." Page's riffs became much heavier and more interesting. And obviously, hugely influential.

Think About It: The BBC live version. So Cool.
