Like many songs, this one clocks in at 2:37, a recurring number for me, only because it is the center of my birth digits, the number of the hotel room in the Shining, and a prime sequence occurring on license plates around the world. James Marshall Hendrix was born on the same day as Bruce Lee, attended the same high school, and is widely regarded as one of "the most influential musicians of the 20th century"
Few of his performances went unrecorded. Such as the one on the night of the death of MLK, which was said to have reduced the audience to tears.
