R.I.P. Tex Tucker.
I guess I'm getting old and dusty enough to start saying goodbye to some really amazing things.
When I moved to Bozeman, Montana in 1994 I had a fake ID that allowed me to belly-up at local establishments. One of those places was the Hauf Brau. Tex was a fixture there, playing 3 nights a week. He introduced me to ton of amazing music like John Prine, Gram Parsons, Levon Helm, Merle Haggard, and old Neil Young tunes that I had never heard on KQRS.
I had some good times at that bar. We had our own booth right up front, and Tex would let me sing a horrible rendition of "Sittin' On the Dock of The Bay" no matter how drunk I was. The guy provided the soundtrack to a ton of memories.
Tex died of liver cancer the other day. Rest in peace.

Aaaww, that is sad.
This dude will be missed. A true Bozeman legend.
