Waite Park man struck, killed while lying in a St. Cloud street
A 23-year-old Waite Park, Minn., man lying in a St. Cloud street was struck by a car and killed early Sunday.

The accident occurred at 12:09 a.m. as the man was lying in the left lane of Roosevelt Road, according to the Minnesota State Patrol and St. Cloud police. Police had not released the man's name by Sunday evening.

A car driven by a 62-year-old Monticello, Minn., man was traveling southbound on the road when it struck the man. The driver and his passenger were not injured.

Authorities performed CPR and other life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

It was unclear why the man was lying in the road.
