I've discovered my Shangri-la

I finally made it out to the Emerald City Soul Club's performance at the Crocodile on Saturday night. It was probably the best DJ set I've seen (with the exception of a few face melters I've been involved with). Easily the most fun I've had in Seattle yet.

The playlist featured the best in Rare Soul from the 60's and early 70's. Multiple DJ's offered their hand on the wheels of steel, and the vast majority if not all of the wax was from 45's.

This is going to be a monthly must-see for this beast, and I strongly recommend that visiting friends from out of town plan their trips around the Emerald City Soul Club's gigs.

Check out a sample of some of their platters over on the Emerald City Soul Club Myspace page.
