I am not sure if there is anything funny about war—especially that we send Jessica Simpson and Toby Keith to entertain the troops. I have been taking a small poll about these posters for Sriracha Vietnamese Chili Sauce (found via Ads of the World). Some people think it's "too soon" and others comment on the nice use of typography and design.
I don't think they're the best lines, but I think it's an interesting angle that you'll remember and perhaps you'll tell someone about. That being said, overall, I like the first one the most.
As usual, to get a better look, just click on the images.

I don't think it's too soon at all (come on, that was over 30 years ago). If it's too soon, how do you explain the ubiquity of Osama bin Laden? Or even GW? Wait too long and the potency of the message is lost or too diluted to matter or make sense. That said, the lines could be better. They could afford to be a little--oh, I don't know--meaner, I guess. As if Sriracha is the hand grenade they're chuckin' back at us, even though they beat us the first time aorund.
I think these ads are great. There is an unspoken truth to them that is probably far to taboo for the general public, but nonetheless entertaining for me.
I want to start out by saying I am no sauce expert, but I think there is a bigger issue. Isn't the sauce from Sri Racha, Thailand, thus the name? If it indeed is, that would be a fault.
